Job summary

Kingspan Water & Energy in the Guildford area is looking for an Engineer Assistant to support our Engineering Team. This role offers hands-on experience and training to progress into a Service Engineer position, with both field and office-based duties and a focus on delivering excellent customer service.

You will gain exposure to sewage treatment systems and industrial equipment, learn our procedures, and develop skills in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with sewage treatment plants, pumping stations, rainwater separators, or similar mechanical/electrical equipment is beneficial but not essential.
• Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles.
• Ability to interact professionally with clients and ensure high satisfaction.
• Proficient with mobile technology and task management software.
• Valid UK driving licence is essential for this role.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to learn in a technical environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive and manage tasks using PDA software.
• Proactively contact customers with accurate ETAs and flag delays.
• Complete detailed reports and suggest improvements.
• Perform visual safety risk assessments and raise concerns.
• Conduct monthly van stock checks and report parts used.
• Participate in on-the-job training and development courses.

About The Role

We are looking for a dedicated and motivated Engineer Assistant to support our Engineering Team. This exciting role provides an excellent opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience while undergoing training to progress into a Service Engineer position. As an Engineer Assistant, you will play a crucial part in both field and office-based support, contributing to high levels of customer satisfaction. We are keen to speak with candidates in the Guildford Area.

This customer-facing role requires strong communication skills, technical knowledge, and an understanding of customer care. You will be trained on our systems and procedures and have the chance to develop your skills in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Task Management: Use PDA software to receive and manage tasks effectively.
• Customer Communication: Proactively contact customers with accurate ETAs and notify them of any potential delays.
• Reporting & Feedback: Complete detailed reports, provide feedback on job performance, and recommend improvements or additional alarms.
• Safety & Risk Assessments: Perform visual risk assessments and raise any safety concerns with your line manager.
• Stock Management: Conduct monthly van stock checks and report on parts used to ensure correct procedures.
• On-the-job Training: Participate in on-the-job training and personal development courses as directed.

Skills And Experience

To succeed in this role, we're looking for candidates who have:
