Job summary

Santander Corporate & Investment Banking in London is seeking a driven professional to join the Energy Structured Finance team. You’ll support lending and debt advisory activities, engaging clients and helping structure and place debt solutions across Europe, with occasional involvement in the US, Brazil or Asia.

You’ll collaborate with Debt Capital Markets, Ratings Advisory and Risk Solutions, build relationships, and contribute to proposals and business development efforts while developing in

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role within Structured Finance.
• Interest in the energy sector.
• Understanding of debt, equity and derivative markets.
• Proven ability to build productive client relationships.
• Experience writing proposals and supporting business development.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Modelling skills with MS Excel proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to idea generation by understanding client needs and objectives, pitching opportunities with the team head and other areas of CIB.
• Facilitate between the client and lending platforms/solutions to source and place funding.
• Support the execution of new and existing mandates across lending and debt advisory.
• Assist in structuring and placement of debt financing, including financial models and due diligence coordination.
• Review diligence materials, model and documentation, negotiate terms, and present to internal committees.
• Build strong, lasting relationships with key clients and stay informed on sector challenges.
• Apply market insights to recommend short- or long-term solutions and services.
