Job summary

South Eastern Regional College in Downpatrick is seeking an ICT Technical Support Officer to ensure reliable desktop and end-user hardware support. The role operates 36 hours per week on a rota basis, with campus duties at Downpatrick.

The ideal candidate will have either a Level 4 ICT qualification or at least 2 years’ ICT support experience, with hands-on skills in Windows, macOS or Linux, MS Office and networked PC troubleshooting, plus a valid driving licence.

Qualifications

• HOLD a Level 4 in a Computing/ICT related subject e.g. HNC/HND.
• OR
• 2 years’ experience working in an ICT support/development function
• *The 2 years’ experience must include providing Technical Support in each of the following:
• Installation of operating systems such as Windows 10, macOS or Linux
• Installation of desktop application software such as Microsoft Office
• Diagnosing and resolving PC problems in a networked environment
• Hold a current driving licence and have access to a car or have access to a form of transport that will enable the post-holder to fulfil the role in full.
• Demonstrate the ability to apply a logical, methodical approach to problem identification and resolution.
• Demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team.
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills.
