Job summary

Marks Sattin is seeking an experienced payroll professional in Doncaster to support the payroll and pensions function. You will manage end-to-end payroll, pensions and expenses, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery while meeting SLAs and KPIs.

The role requires knowledge of UK payroll regulations, HMRC compliance, and system changes. You will work with Finance, HR and external providers, driving process improvements and training the team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in end-to-end payroll and pensions processing.
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll and pensions.
• Experience supporting payroll system implementations or changes.
• Testing new system functionality and training colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Support Payroll Team Leadership in delivering a high-quality payroll and pensions service.
• Process end-to-end payroll, pensions and employee expenses accurately and within deadlines.
• Ensure payroll activities meet SLAs and KPIs.
• Maintain compliance with HMRC requirements, pensions legislation and internal controls.
• Act as a key contact for internal and external stakeholders.
• Take ownership of payroll and pensions responsibilities and resolve queries.
• Provide knowledgeable support on payroll and pensions administration.
• Identify opportunities to standardise, automate and reduce manual intervention.
• Support testing and implementation of new payroll functionality and system changes.
• Share knowledge and provide training to team members.
• Contribute to a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism with sensitive information.
