Job summary

White Recruitment Construction is seeking an Ocean Freight Export Operator to join our Glasgow team. You will manage exports from booking through delivery, liaising with customers, overseas offices, carriers, and internal teams to ensure high-quality handling and service.

Qualifications

• Previous UK experience in ocean freight exports within a freight forwarding environment (1–3 years preferred).
• Strong knowledge of export processes, documentation and customs requirements.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Proactive approach to problem solving.
• Confidence using freight management systems and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Positive, enthusiastic and driven attitude.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with customers and overseas offices to coordinate shipments.
• Manage shipments from start to finish, ensuring timelines are met.
• Handle invoicing, forecasts and other financial elements.
• Complete key shipment milestones accurately across internal systems.
• Ensure export documentation and processes are correct.
• Work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Aim for targets and maintain a customer-focused approach.
• Collaborate with colleagues and support the wider operations team.
