Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Welcoming pupils on arrival and supporting them as they start their school day.
  • Assisting pupils as they settle into their classroom and daily routines.
  • Supporting teachers to ensure all pupils can access learning activities and the curriculum.
  • Providing one-to-one and small group support where required.
  • Supporting pupils with movement and handling needs where necessary.
  • Assisting with personal care and medical needs when required (full training provided).
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
  • Supervising pupils during breaktimes and lunchtimes.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and support staff to meet pupils' individual needs.
  • Supporting pupils at the end of the school day and ensuring safe departure arrangements.
