Job summary

Prospero Teaching is recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to join welcoming specialist schools in Swindon. The role involves providing tailored 1:1 and group support, assisting teachers with differentiated lessons and supporting pupils with a range of needs, including Autism and SEMH.

You will contribute to promoting positive behaviour and independence, building strong relationships, and helping pupils engage with learning.

Qualifications

  • Patience and compassion when supporting pupils with diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team and take initiative.
  • Resilience and empathy in challenging situations.
  • Commitment to helping pupils reach their full potential.
  • Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging, differentiated lessons.
  • Support students with Autism, SEMH, ADHD, Dyslexia, MLD, SLD and other needs.
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and independence.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Encourage participation and personal development.
  • Help maintain a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment.
