Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant in Swindon to support pupils with a range of SEND and help them access learning. You will work 1:1 or in small groups to develop confidence and independence.

This role offers both full-time and supply opportunities across primary, secondary and specialist SEN settings, with competitive PAYE pay and access to free CPD training and consultant support.

Qualifications

  • Have at least 6 months of UK experience in a Teaching Assistant, SEN or relevant support role.
  • Experience working with children or young people.
  • Patient, caring, resilient and adaptable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support.
  • Assist pupils with SEND, Autism, ADHD and additional learning needs.
  • Support pupils with classroom activities and learning.
  • Support emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour.
  • Adapt activities and resources to meet individual needs.
  • Encourage communication, independence and confidence.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and other staff.

Protocol Education is working with schools across Swindon who are looking for dedicated Teaching Assistants to support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

About the Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting pupils to access learning, develop confidence and achieve their potential.

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support.
  • Supporting pupils with SEND, Autism, ADHD and additional learning needs.
  • Assisting pupils with classroom activities and learning.
  • Supporting emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour.
  • Adapting activities and resources to meet individual needs.
  • Encouraging communication, independence and confidence.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils.
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other support staff.
  • Creating a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
What We're Looking For
  • Have at least 6 months of UK experience in a Teaching Assistant, SEN or relevant support role.
  • Have experience working with children or young people.
  • Have previous SEND experience.
  • Are patient, caring, resilient and adaptable.
  • Have strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Can work effectively as part of a school team.
  • Are passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning.
