Job summary

Education Authority is seeking a part-time Classroom Assistant for Primary settings in Belfast. The role involves assisting a Class Teacher, supervising pupils, preparing materials and supporting learning activities in and out of the classroom.

Qualifications

• Level 2 qualification or equivalent required.
• Minimum 12 months’ experience in a formal learning environment.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements for children.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in running the class and support pupils individually or in groups.
• Supervise groups of children on specified activities and in play sessions.
• Assist with administration, preparation of materials, displays and records.
• Provide care assistance including basic first aid and medicines as directed by staff.
• Maintain a safe, orderly learning environment and report concerns to the class teacher.
