Job summary

Chelmsford Star Co-operative Society is seeking a Funeral Advisor to support families through the funeral planning process. You will work across our funeral homes, offering empathetic, informative guidance while maintaining high standards and professional relationships with clients and partners.

The role requires compassion, strong organisational skills, and a full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel within the area. DBS checks apply for new joiners as part of our recruitment process.

Qualifications

• Compassionate nature and active listening skills.
• Keen eye for detail and ability to handle complex information with accuracy.
• Strong communication, organisational and administrative skills.
• Full UK Driving licence is essential; willingness to travel in the area when required.

Responsibilities

• Develop knowledge of services offered and help families personalise the funeral service.
• Arrange funerals with attention to detail and cost transparency.
• Communicate arrangements clearly between family and Funeral Director.
• Handle administration duties with sensitivity and accuracy.
• Ensure the funeral home is clean, tidy and secure (alarms opened/closed).
• Promote Funeral Services within the local community and build local relationships.
• Build relationships with hospitals, nursing homes, clergy and doctors.
• Comply with statutory and internal policies and procedures.
