Job summary

Chelmsford Star Co-operative Society in the United Kingdom is seeking a Conducting Funeral Assistant to conduct and arrange funerals, and ensure our client journey is of the highest standard.

This varied role requires leadership of the bearer team on funeral days, administration, and ability to build relationships with families while upholding health and safety requirements. DBS checks apply for new joiners.

Qualifications

• Real passion for providing excellent service to clients and supporting the operational team.
• Requires planning and organising skills to ensure effective multi-site coverage and clear communication with clients.
• Able to build strong relationships and manage expectations within a team.
• This role suits someone competent with administration tasks.
• Soft skills and ability to stay calm in challenging situations.
• A full UK Driving licence is essential for this role.

Responsibilities

• Providing leadership to our bearer team on the day of funeral
• Support line managers to coach and develop colleagues’ knowledge
• Conduct Funerals- ensuring high standards of delivery by all colleagues
• Lead and participate with community activities
• Ensuring compliance to Health and Safety requirements by bearer team on the day of funeral
• Attend local forums/and or meetings to build network with NAFD
• Daily running of funeral home including funeral arranging and ad hoc back of house duties as required
