Job summary

OurCoop, the UK’s largest independent co-operative Society, is hiring a Funeral Advisor to support families and manage daily operations of our funeral homes with compassion and professionalism. You’ll blend empathy with organisation, assist with all aspects of funeral arrangements, and represent the Society in local communities while covering other funeral homes as needed.

Qualifications

• DBS check is required for new joiners as of 1 December 2023.
• Ability to build trusted community relationships and communicate with sensitivity.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Support families through funeral arrangements with empathy and clarity.
• Oversee day-to-day running of funeral homes and maintain high standards.
• Arrange funerals, coordinate with funeral directors and families, and manage costs.
• Travel to cover other funeral homes for sickness or holidays when required.
• Promote funeral services within the local community and build hospital/clinician relationships.
• Ensure the funeral home is kept clean, secure, and compliant with policies.
