Job summary

South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust is hiring an Emergency Call Taker in Otterbourne, Hampshire. This on-site role involves handling 999 calls with calm, clear communication and compassionate support. You will join a fast-paced team delivering critical emergency response and training starts soon.

The role requires 18+, right to work in the UK, and training from January 2027. Competitive NHS pay and benefits include generous annual leave and free parking across a pro rata

Qualifications

GCSEs including English or equivalent.
Experience in a customer focused environment.
Experience using a computerised system and call centre.
Experience of working rotating shifts.
Previous NHS experience and patient care.
Attention to detail and accurate data entry.

Responsibilities

Full training programme provided with classroom and coaching.
Operate in high-pressure emergency response environment.
Support callers through critical situations with clear communication.
Maintain data accuracy and patient information in computerised systems.
