Job summary

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is recruiting a Call Handler based at Castle Donington to support a 24/7 emergency call handling service. You will answer calls from the NHS multidisciplinary team, input live patient information, and provide essential admin support to ensure safe transfers.

You will work with clinicians, nurses and administrators, use a high-tech switchboard, perform accurate data entry across multiple systems, and help coordinate transport and bed state updates while

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service.
• Proficient IT skills and data entry.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple calls.
• Excellent communication with multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Use the high-tech switchboard confidently and efficiently.
• Accurately record emergency referrals for patients across systems.
• Enter patient and referral data into multiple hospital systems.
• Maintain up-to-date contact information for team members.
• Coordinate conference calls and transfers during the transport process.
• Collaborate with other services and hospitals for bed and transfer updates.
• Track transport team positions and progress; report issues to management.
