Job summary

The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a Call Handler based at Castle Donington to operate a 24/7 call handling service for the NHS multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities

Answer emergency calls from the NHS multidisciplinary team using a high-tech switchboard.
Input live patient information into web-based systems and transfer data to multiple hospital databases.
Multi-task and manage concurrent calls while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.
Maintain contact information for team members and ensure smooth, professional communication across the transport and clinical teams.
Coordinate conference calls and relay information promptly to the relevant teams during transfers.
Update bed state and liaise with transport teams and hospitals to monitor patient flow and availability.
Assist the team leader with activity, audit and outreach reports and with service continuity and staffing issues.
Carry out office duties such as photocopying, documentation handling, and ensuring records are scanned into hospital systems.
