Job summary

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is recruiting a part-time Switchboard Operator for Conquest Hospital. You will work on a 24/7 switchboard, handling calls, bleeps and pagers, and supporting a busy 365-day service. Training will be provided.

Some shifts may include enhanced rates for night, weekend, and bank holiday periods. You will be required to calmly manage emergency calls, relay information to team leaders and the Manager, and maintain a high level of professional communication in a

• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills.
• Good keyboard and data-entry skills.
• Reliable and able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Handle all incoming calls to the Switchboard on a 24/7 basis.
• Operate the switchboard, bleeps and pager systems.
• Respond to emergency calls calmly and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate daily on-call rota and handover information.
• Communicate clearly with team leaders and managers.
