Job summary

Iron Mountain is seeking a strategic Design Manager to join our EMEA Design and Construction team. You’ll lead end-to-end design delivery for data centre projects across Europe, coordinating with external consultants and internal teams to ensure our high-performance infrastructure meets exact engineering standards and supports our expanding digital footprint.

The role requires extensive experience in mission-critical facilities, strong knowledge of M&E systems, and the ability to travel

Qualifications

• Extensive experience delivering design for mission-critical facilities (data centres, pharma, energy).
• Strong knowledge of complex mechanical/electrical systems and applicable codes.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary design teams and manage vendor/internal stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Lead external design consultants to deliver data centre facilities meeting global specs.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration with internal construction, finance, sales, and operations.
• Provide engineering oversight: budget, schedule, and product delivery for infrastructure projects.
• Identify engineering risks early to protect timelines and delivery standards.
