Job summary

Iron Mountain is seeking a strategic Design Manager to join our EMEA Design and Construction team. You will lead end-to-end design delivery for data centre construction across key European markets, collaborating with multidisciplinary experts and external consultants to ensure engineering standards are met and digital infrastructure scales.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in the design delivery of mission-critical facilities, such as Data Centres, Pharmaceutical, or Energy.
• Strong knowledge of complex M&E systems and building codes.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary design teams and manage key vendor and internal stakeholder relationships.
• University degree in Architecture or Engineering with willingness to travel internationally up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead third-party design consultants: Manage external design teams to deliver mission-critical data centre facilities that align with global specifications.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration: Partner with internal construction, finance, sales, and operations teams to execute fit-out programs and validate business pursuit opportunities.
• Provide engineering oversight: Direct budget, schedule, and product delivery to keep assigned infrastructure projects compliant with organizational quality and safety regulations.
• Manage project risks: Identify critical engineering risks and opportunities early in the design phase to protect project timelines and delivery standards.
