Job summary

Iron Mountain is seeking a strategic Design Manager to join our EMEA Design and Construction team. You’ll lead end-to-end design delivery for critical data centre construction projects across Europe, including London, Amsterdam, Madrid and Frankfurt.

You will work with multidisciplinary experts, external consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure our high-performance infrastructure meets exact engineering standards while supporting our expanding digital footprint.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in the design delivery of mission-critical facilities (data centres, pharma, or energy).
• Strong knowledge of complex mechanical, electrical, life safety, and control systems.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary design teams and manage stakeholder relationships.
• Degree in Architecture or Engineering with willingness to travel internationally up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead third-party design consultants to deliver data centre facilities that align with global specifications.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration with internal construction, finance, sales, and operations teams.
• Provide engineering oversight: budget, schedule, and product delivery to ensure compliance with quality and safety regulations.
• Identify critical engineering risks early in design to protect timelines and delivery standards.
