Job description

Do you enjoy combining creativity with data to deliver communications that resonate? Are you confident using insight and segmentation to turn interest into action? This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in how we engage and convert prospective learners at a world leading educational institution, with roots dating back to 1873. At University of Cambridge Professional and Continuing Education (PACE), our mission is to make lifelong learning accessible to all. We deliver a diverse portfolio of University of Cambridge courses across a wide range of disciplines. Our work focuses on widening participation and ensuring learning is accessible to adults at every stage of life.

The Role

As our Email Coordinator, you'll play a key role in delivering a strategic, data-driven email communications programme across PACE. You'll be part of the collaborative External Engagement Division, working across marketing, student recruitment and admissions, and alumni engagement to ensure our communications are timely, relevant, and effective. This role is pivotal to our success. You'll have real ownership of the email function, with the opportunity to shape how we use email to engage and convert prospective learners. It's a chance to make a tangible impact - using data, creativity, and insight to drive performance and continuously improve how we communicate. You'll take ownership of planning, building, and analysing email campaigns that support the full student journey - from initial enquiry through to application, enrolment, and beyond. Working closely with colleagues and CRM specialists, you'll use segmentation and automation to deliver personalised, high-performing campaigns.

What you'll do:
  • Plan and deliver targeted email campaigns that support student recruitment, engagement, and retention
  • Use CRM systems (Salesforce/Comm Planner) to segment audiences and build personalised email journeys
  • Collaborate with marketing colleagues to develop compelling, audience-focused content
  • Analyse campaign performance and provide insights to improve engagement and conversion
  • Run A/B tests to optimise subject lines, content, and send strategies
  • Work with the CRM and Systems team to maintain data quality and effective automation workflows
  • Ensure all communications follow GDPR and best practice in email accessibility and design
  • Act as a subject matter expert, advising colleagues on effective email marketing approaches
  • Experience planning, delivering, and analysing email marketing campaigns
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and audience segmentation
  • Strong copywriting and editing skills
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Excellent organisation and ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously
  • Attention to detail, particularly in QA and proofreading
  • Understanding of email best practice, including accessibility and optimisation
  • A degree or equivalent professional experience This is more than a delivery role; it's an opportunity to shape how we engage with prospective and current students, using data and creativity to drive meaningful outcomes.
  • 36 days annual leave, inclusive of Bank Holidays
  • Defined benefits pension schemes
  • Flexible working options
  • Family-friendly initiatives
  • Career and professional development opportunities
  • Support for health & mental wellbeing
  • Discounts on shopping
  • Public transport season ticket loans

This is a hybrid role, with time split between remote working and in-person collaboration. You'll be based at Madingley Hall, just outside Cambridge, twice a week, with the remaining time working remotely.
