Job summary

Xtrac is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer to own hardware work packages within high-performance transmission systems. You will design schematics, PCB layouts, and integrate electronics across vehicle subsystems, bench and test-rig validation, with emphasis on delivering quality on time.

We require 3–5 years’ automotive electronics experience, strong knowledge of ISO26262/ASPICE and Altium Designer, plus hands-on testing and leadership in a fast-paced team at our UK site.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a degree in electrical/electronic/related engineering with chartered status desired.
• Experience designing electronic hardware for automotive powertrain systems.
• Knowledge of ISO26262, ASPICE, IEC61508 and UNECE regulations is essential.

Responsibilities

• To deliver electronic hardware development work packages for Senior/Principal Electronics Engineer level.
• Design electronic schematics and PCB layouts, including component selection.
• Support bench, test-rig and vehicle testing and travel as required.
• Integrate electronics with electrical and software in transmission subsystems and vehicles.
• Ensure on-time delivery to specifications with cost awareness.
• Document tasks and develop company-standard methods and tools.
• Mentor staff and students as needed and uphold health and safety rules.
• Follow Xtrac standards and drive continuous improvement in activities.
