Job summary

Xtrac is seeking a Senior Controls & Software Engineer to join the Control Systems and Electronics group in the UK. You will lead controls development, coordinate engineers, and ensure delivery to stringent project specs while supporting across the vehicle and dyno tests.

The role requires a strong background in transmission controls, system integration, and data analysis, with leadership experience across multi‑project teams. The position is site‑based with strong growth potential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a BEng or BSc in mechanical, mechatronic, electrical or electronic engineering.
• Desirable incorporation/chartered engineer status or active progression.
• Experience of powertrain control system specification and design principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead controls-based systems projects to Head of Control Systems and Electronics requirements.
• Deliver controls development activities on time with cost considerations.
• Mentor engineers and supervise project teams across multiple design efforts.
• Contribute to ISO standards, documentation and development processes.
• Collaborate with design teams to optimise integration and performance.
