Job summary

Oakmoor Recruitment is seeking an experienced Electrician who wants to move into a training career. This Electrical Trainer role will be split between Plymouth and Exeter training centres, delivering commercial courses and mentoring learners.

Starting salary up to £37k with £1k raises after 6 months and after gaining Assessor qualification, plus fully funded training, a flexible working environment and a generous benefits package.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of electrician experience.
• Level 3 electrical qualification or above (desirable).
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Enhanced DBS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and coordinate the successful completion of all aspects of process qualifications.
• Provide hands-on coaching and technical guidance to learners.
• Train apprentices in line with relevant awarding body standards.
• Work in a team that values a hands-on approach.

The Role: Coaching the Next Generation

You will be involved in delivering commercial courses including the 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification.

• Delivery: Deliver and coordinate the successful completion of all aspects of process qualifications.
• Mentorship: Provide hands‑on coaching and technical guidance to learners in the workplace.
• Focus: Training apprentices in line with relevant awarding body standards.
• Environment: Work in a rewarding, self‑motivated team environment that values a 'hands-on approach.'

Essential Requirements (Your Experience is Your Qualification)

We are looking for proven occupational experience as an Electrician.

• Occupational Experience: Minimum 5 years' relevant occupational experience as an Electrician.
• Technical Qualification:Level 3 or above Electrical qualification / apprenticeship (desirable)
• Soft Skills: Good communication, presentation skills, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic, rewarding environment.
• Compliance: This position is subject to Enhanced DBS clearance.
• Full UK Driving License, and use of own car
