Job summary

Oakmoor Recruitment is seeking an experienced Electrician who wants to move into training. This Electrical Trainer role is based across Plymouth and Exeter, offering full training and qualifications funded by the employer.

Starting salary goes up to £37,000 with £1k raises after 6 months and after achieving the Assessor qualification, plus enhanced benefits, flexible working, and a clear path to become an assessor/tutor.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' relevant occupational experience as an Electrician.
• Level 3 or above Electrical qualification / apprenticeship (desirable).
• Good communication and presentation skills; ability to adapt to a dynamic environment.
• Enhanced DBS clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and coordinate the successful completion of all aspects of process qualifications.
• Provide hands-on coaching and technical guidance to learners in the workplace.
• Train apprentices in line with awarding body standards.
• Work in a team environment that values a hands-on approach.

The Role: Coaching the Next Generation

You will be involved in delivering commercial courses including the 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification.

• Delivery: Deliver and coordinate the successful completion of all aspects of process qualifications.
• Mentorship: Provide hands‑on coaching and technical guidance to learners in the workplace.
• Focus: Training apprentices in line with relevant awarding body standards.
• Environment: Work in a rewarding, self‑motivated team environment that values a 'hands-on approach.'

Essential Requirements (Your Experience is Your Qualification)

We are looking for proven occupational experience as an Electrician.

• Occupational Experience: Minimum 5 years' relevant occupational experience as an Electrician.
• Technical Qualification:Level 3 or above Electrical qualification / apprenticeship (desirable)
• Soft Skills: Good communication, presentation skills, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic, rewarding environment.
• Compliance: This position is subject to Enhanced DBS clearance.
• Full UK Driving License, and use of own car
