Job summary

BJF Group is seeking an Electrical Qualifying Supervisor to lead electricians and apprentices across South West sites. The role involves planning, scheduling, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards across multiple projects.

You will visit sites, scope works, organise materials, and supervise any subcontractors to uphold BJF quality. Ideal candidates hold Level 3 NVQ, AM2, 2391 testing, 7671 regulations, CompEx, and a valid UK driving license.

Qualifications

• Must hold Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Installation (2357).
• Competent in testing and inspection (2391) and the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (7671).
• Requires CompEx 01-04 and a JIB Gold Card; driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide technically sound knowledge, support and guidance to colleagues and clients.
• Plan and schedule projects across multiple sites in the South West.
• Estimate time and materials for projects and maintain accurate records.
• Supervise electricians and apprentices, ensuring safety and building regulation compliance.
• Visit sites before works start, scope requirements, organise materials and permits to works.
• Oversee subcontractors and ensure adherence to BJF standards; perform site safety audits.
• Maintain safety culture and health and wellbeing of the team and wider group.

Position

The Electrical Qualifying Supervisor's role is a crucial role in the day to day running of the business and involves the management of electricians and apprentices under your control so that all requirements of the electrical FM Projects department are achieved and maintained in line with the company policies and rules of enrolment with the NICEIIC. This is a mobile role that will require you to be split across multiple sites across the South West of the UK, each project will typically last 2-5 days at a particular site and you will commute to the same site until the project is fully delivered, so you will not be expected to travel across multiple sites in one day etc...

• Provide technically sound knowledge, support and guidance to colleagues and clients
• To provide advice, support and guidance relating to electrical installations during day-to-day activities and out of hours service.
• Liaising, and relationship building with your teams, clients and consultants on an on-going daily basis.
• Plan and schedule projects
• Estimate the time and materials needed to complete projects
• Maintain records and documentation relating to the ongoing completion of projects
• Supervise electricians and apprentices as they work, providing guidance and instructions as needed
• Ensure all work complies with all safety and building regulation standards
• Perform electrical tasks as required
• Visit sites before works start and scope what is required, organise materials
• Organise permit to works, ensure Rams are signed before works commence, oversee any Sub contractors and ensure they abide by the BJF standards
• Complete electrical site safety audits and prepare reports
• Understand your responsibility for the health, safety and wellbeing of your team and the wider group, whilst promoting a positive health and safety culture throughout.
