Job summary

BJF Group is seeking an Electrical Qualifying Supervisor to manage electricians and apprentices across multiple sites in the South West. You will ensure safe delivery of electrical FM projects and compliance with NICEIC enrolment rules.

You will plan, schedule, estimate resources, and maintain project records while liaising with clients and consultants to guarantee high standards and timely completion.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Installation (2357) required.
• AM2 qualification expected.
• Testing & Inspection (2391) required.
• 18th Edition + IET Wiring Regulations (7671) required.
• Full UK Driving Licence essential.
• CompEx 01-04 certification required.
• JIB Gold Card held.

Responsibilities

• Provide technically sound knowledge, support and guidance to colleagues and clients.
• Provide advice and guidance relating to electrical installations during day-to-day activities and out of hours service.
• Liaise with teams, clients and consultants daily.
• Plan and schedule projects.
• Estimate time and materials needed to complete projects.
• Maintain records and documentation for ongoing projects.
• Supervise electricians and apprentices with guidance.
• Ensure work complies with safety and building regulations.
• Perform electrical tasks as required.
• Visit sites before works start and scope requirements, organise materials.
• Organise permit to works and ensure RAMS signed before works; oversee subcontractors.
• Complete electrical site safety audits and prepare reports.
• Promote health and safety culture across the team.

Within our Facilities Management division, the Southwest Projects team plays a crucial role in the scoping, planning and delivery of a diverse range of projects additional to the main contract, ranging from small improvement through to room/building refurbishments and completely new installations.

Position

The Electrical Qualifying Supervisor’s role is a crucial role in the day to day running of the business and involves the management of electricians and apprentices under your control so that all requirements of the electrical FM Projects department are achieved and maintained in line with the company policies and rules of enrolment with the NICEIIC.

This is a mobile role that will require you to be split across multiple sites across the South West of the UK, each project will typically last 2-5 days at a particular site and you will commute to the same site until the project is fully delivered, so you will not be expected to travel across multiple sites in one day etc...

• Provide technically sound knowledge, support and guidance to colleagues and clients
• To provide advice, support and guidance relating to electrical installations during day-to-day activities and out of hours service.
• Liaising, and relationship building with your teams, clients and consultants on an on-going daily basis.
• Plan and schedule projects
• Estimate the time and materials needed to complete projects
• Maintain records and documentation relating to the ongoing completion of projects
• Supervise electricians and apprentices as they work, providing guidance and instructions as needed
• Ensure all work complies with all safety and building regulation standards
• Perform electrical tasks as required
• Visit sites before works start and scope what is required, organise materials
• Organise permit to works, ensure Rams are signed before works commence, oversee any Sub contractors and ensure they abide by the BJF standards
• Complete electrical site safety audits and prepare reports
• Understand your responsibility for the health, safety and wellbeing of your team and the wider group, whilst promoting a positive health and safety culture throughout.
