Job summary

BJF Group is seeking an Electrical Qualifying Supervisor to lead electricians and apprentices across multiple SW sites. The role involves planning, supervising works, and ensuring compliance with safety and building regulations, while coordinating with clients and consultants on a day-to-day basis.

You will split time across sites, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and to high standards, with a focus on quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation is required.
• AM2 certification is required.
• Testing & Inspection (2391) certification is required.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (7671) competency is required.
• Full UK Driving Licence is required.
• CompEx 01-04 certification is required.
• JIB Gold Card is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technically sound knowledge and guidance to colleagues and clients.
• Advise on electrical installations during day-to-day activities and out of hours.
• Liaise with teams, clients and consultants on a daily basis.
• Plan and schedule projects.
• Estimate time and materials for projects.
• Maintain records and documentation for ongoing projects.
• Supervise electricians and apprentices, giving guidance as needed.
• Ensure work complies with safety and building regulations.
• Perform electrical tasks as required.
• Visit sites, scope requirements, and organise materials.
• Organise permits to work, ensure RAMS are signed, oversee sub-contractors.
• Complete electrical site safety audits and prepare reports.

Position

The Electrical Qualifying Supervisor’s role is a crucial role in the day to day running of the business and involves the management of electricians and apprentices under your control so that all requirements of the electrical FM Projects department are achieved and maintained in line with the company policies and rules of enrolment with the NICEIIC.

This is a mobile role that will require you to be split across multiple sites across the South West of the UK, each project will typically last 2-5 days at a particular site and you will commute to the same site until the project is fully delivered, so you will not be expected to travel across multiple sites in one day etc...

• Provide technically sound knowledge, support and guidance to colleagues and clients
• To provide advice, support and guidance relating to electrical installations during day-to-day activities and out of hours service.
• Liaising, and relationship building with your teams, clients and consultants on an on-going daily basis.
• Plan and schedule projects
• Estimate the time and materials needed to complete projects
• Maintain records and documentation relating to the ongoing completion of projects
• Supervise electricians and apprentices as they work, providing guidance and instructions as needed
• Ensure all work complies with all safety and building regulation standards
• Perform electrical tasks as required
• Visit sites before works start and scope what is required, organise materials
• Organise permit to works, ensure Rams are signed before works commence, oversee any Sub contractors and ensure they abide by the BJF standards
• Complete electrical site safety audits and prepare reports
• Understand your responsibility for the health, safety and wellbeing of your team and the wider group, whilst promoting a positive health and safety culture throughout.
