Job summary

Babcock is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Team Leader to head a on-site team at HMNB Clyde Faslane, overseeing maintenance of critical electrical and engineering systems for submarine operations. The role demands leadership in a regulated defence environment, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

You will coordinate maintenance activities, mentor technicians, and drive performance while ensuring work is completed to the highest standards.

Qualifications

• Electrical maintenance experience gained within an industrial, marine, defence, engineering, manufacturing, or similar setting.
• Knowledge of safe systems of work, including areas such as working at height and confined spaces.
• Experience developing, mentoring, and supporting team members.
• Good information technology skills, including the use of Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of technicians carrying out maintenance on electrical and engineering systems.
• Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance activities to ensure operational availability.
• Diagnose faults, investigate equipment failures and implement effective corrective actions.
• Support maintenance planning, resource allocation and continuous improvement activities.
• Drive high standards of safety, quality and performance across the team.
