Job summary

Babcock International is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Team Leader at the Faslane site to lead a team responsible for maintaining critical electrical systems supporting submarine operations. The role combines hands-on leadership with governance in a highly regulated defence environment.

You will coordinate planned and reactive maintenance, mentor technicians, manage small engineering projects and drive safety, quality, and performance to the highest standards on site.

• Electrical maintenance experience in industrial/marine/defence settings.
• Knowledge of safe systems of work including working at height and confined spaces.
• Experience mentoring and supporting team members.

The role

As an Electrical Maintenance Team Leader , you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You'll lead a team responsible for maintaining and improving the critical electrical and engineering systems that support submarine operations at HMNB Clyde. Working in a highly regulated environment, you'll coordinate maintenance activities, resolve technical issues, manage small engineering projects and ensure work is completed safely, on time and to the highest standards. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical maintenance professional looking to step into a leadership role within a unique defence environment.

Day-to-day, you'll be required to:

• Lead a team of technicians carrying out maintenance on electrical and engineering systems.
• Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance activities to ensure operational availability.
• Diagnose faults, investigate equipment failures and implement effective corrective actions.
• Support maintenance planning, resource allocation and continuous improvement activities.
• Drive high standards of safety, quality and performance across the team.

This role is full time, 36 hours per week Monday to Thrusday and is based on site at Faslane.

Essential experience of the Electrical Maintenance Team Leader

• Electrical maintenance experience gained within an industrial, marine, defence, engineering, manufacturing, or similar setting.
• Knowledge of safe systems of work, including areas such as working at height and confined spaces.
• Experience developing, mentoring, and supporting team members.
• Good information technology skills, including the use of Microsoft Office applications.

Qualifications for the Electrical Maintenance Team Leader

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
