Job summary

Babcock is seeking a Principal Submarine Systems Engineer to safeguard Royal Navy submarines from the Faslane HMNB Clyde site. You will lead system engineering efforts, oversee technical work, and coordinate with design authorities and MOD stakeholders to deliver safe, capable naval platforms.

Candidates should hold an engineering degree, be a sole UK national eligible for SC clearance, and be prepared for on-site work with flexible attendance as required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable submarine engineering experience.
• Strong system engineering within mechanical/electrical disciplines.
• Experience conducting technical audits and managing risks.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight across Platform Systems.
• Hold technical delegations and liaise with Design Authorities.
• Ensure design intent from WP creation to testing and acceptance.
• Collaborate with internal teams and MOD stakeholders.
• Participate in groups to assess changes and drive improvements.
