Babcock is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer for HM Naval Base Clyde, Helensburgh, Argyll and Bute. The role focuses on specialist electrical design and technical assurance in a regulated naval environment, with on‑site delivery and asset surveys.

You will act as Technical Authority for electrical services, develop designs for site projects, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with engineering, facilities, and defence operations to optimise infrastructure investment.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical design engineering role.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems in large environments.
• Understanding of statutory and regulatory requirements, including DSEAR.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and carry out electrical calculations.
• Strong problem‑solving and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Acting as the Technical Authority for electrical services, providing expert advice across infrastructure projects.
• Surveying and inspecting electrical assets at HM Naval Base Clyde and assessing their condition against relevant standards.
• Delivering electrical and building services designs for smaller site projects and supporting larger programmes.
• Ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory, quality, environmental, and safety requirements.
• Collaborating with stakeholders across engineering, facilities, project delivery, and defence operations to optimise infrastructure investment.
