Job summary

Stride is seeking an Electrical Engineer to be based on-site at Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford. The role covers 7am–7pm day shifts and 7pm–7am night shifts on a 37.5-hour week, with overtime paid at enhanced rates. Immediate interviews and starts are available.

Responsibilities

• To service and maintain building services plant and equipment in accordance with relevant standards, frequencies, and safe working practices. To respond to reactive breakdowns, carry out fault finding and any necessary repairs.
• Carry out scheduled planned preventative maintenance tasks.
• To have a 'can do' approach to your work ethos.
• Be able to work within a small maintenance team, consisting of an electrical or mechanical engineer and a semi-skilled engineer (plus a full day team of engineering and support staff)

Core details:

• Electrical Engineer based on-site at Darent Valley Hospital, Dartford. DA2 8DA
• Immediate interviews / start dates
• Full time - Mon to Fri, 8 till 4.30pm - 37.5 hour basic week + Overtime available (shift covers and shut down work, as well as additional remedial works) paid at time and a half
• Flexible working shift patterns available, 12 hours shifts mixed between day 7am - 7pm and night 7pm - 7am
• Salary: From £22.55 per hour ongoing with overtime at uplifted 1.5x / £33.83 per hour Monday to Saturday over 37.5 hours or 2x / £46 per hour on Sundays or Bank Holidays.

Requirments:

As an Electrical Engineer you will be required to carry out trade specific PPM’s and reactive maintenance breakdowns. For an Electrical Engineer, this could be anything from changing light fittings to moving sockets, to completing fire alarm / emergency light testing and remedial work to full electrical shutdowns across the hospital alone or working with internal or outsourced colleagues.

• Good all round technical ability and a working knowledge of a wide variety of electrical systems required, knowledge of building maintenance preferred, but not essential.
