Job summary

CBW Staffing Solutions recruits an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a leading healthcare campus in Barnet, North London. The role involves maintaining complex electrical systems across a state-of-the-art facility and working within a skilled engineering team.

You will perform routine inspections, repair and troubleshoot hospital electrical systems, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. Generous overtime and training opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Electrical Installations qualification is required.
• City and Guilds 18th Edition certification is required.
• Previous experience in a hospital, medical facility, or critical-care environment is preferred.
• HV or LV knowledge is helpful but not essential.
• General knowledge of electrical systems is essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair hospital electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, emergency power, and control systems.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical panels, switch gear, transformers, and circuit breakers.
• Reporting to your line manager with any issues.
• Escorting sub-contractors around the site.
• Maintain and test emergency power systems, including generators, UPS units, and ATS.
• Respond promptly to electrical faults that impact critical areas such as operating rooms, ICU, and labs.
• Reactive works on air handling units, fan coil units.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, outages, and repairs.
• Ensure all electrical installations comply with hospital policies, national electrical codes, and health care facility regulations.
