Job summary

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks is seeking a Quality Engineer to join the Quality team, driving continuous improvement and championing quality standards across diverse projects. You will help deliver compliant, customer-focused services and collaborate with stakeholders to shape a culture of excellence.

Experience with Lean Six Sigma is advantageous, with a degree in Engineering or an HNC supported by significant industry knowledge.

Qualifications

• A degree in Engineering, or an HNC supported by significant industry knowledge and experience in quality management or business improvement projects.
• Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail. ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems experience would be advantageous.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Experience producing reports and analysing performance data; KPI reporting experience would be beneficial.
• Strong IT skills and the ability to analyse performance information and present to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Identify potential quality, compliance and operational risks, escalating issues where appropriate and ensuring corrective actions are implemented within agreed timescales.
• Conduct quality reviews of Engineering Connections quotations and designs to ensure accuracy, consistency and regulatory compliance.
• Support continual improvement of engineering processes by identifying opportunities to enhance quality, efficiency and customer outcomes.
• Ensure quotations produced by the design team are accurate, compliant and aligned with standards and regulatory obligations.
• Provide assurance that quality management processes are consistently applied and drive a culture of continuous improvement.
