Job summary

Davies in Liverpool is seeking an EL/PL File Handler in the Legal department. You will manage a caseload of Public/Employers Liability and related claims, from inception to settlement, with case values up to £50,000.

The role requires strong negotiation and client-relationship skills, attention to detail, and experience mentoring junior staff. A permanent full-time position based in Liverpool offers a clear progression path and exposure to complex liability matters.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years claims handling experience.
• Experience dealing with quantum up to £50k.
• Significant experience dealing with complex liability and quantum issues.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Effectively prioritises workload.
• Experience providing training or mentoring and supervising.
• Strong Client relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• To pro-actively manage a caseload of Public Liability, Employers Liability, Product Liability & Property Damage claims
• Maintain accurate data on relevant case management system
• Comply with set client SLA’s
• Ensure quality service standards and productivity levels are maintained to a high standard
• Allocate new claims and set strategies
• Carry out supervisory tasks appropriate to level
• Assist with training and mentoring team members
• Undertake appropriate additional tasks provided by the Team Leader
• Attend Client review meetings and assist with client project work where applicable
• Build and maintain excellent relationships with Clients
