Job summary

Carpenters Group in the UK is seeking an experienced claims specialist to manage a caseload of non-litigated EL/PL personal injury cases, delivering high-quality legal advice and client service. The role focuses on progressing claims through the EL/PL portal and pre-litigation steps, ensuring compliance with legislation and internal standards, with a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience handling non-litigated EL/PL claims.
• Strong understanding of the EL/PL portal and pre-litigation processes.
• Excellent client care and communication skills.
• Proficient in case management systems and general IT tools.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Handle a varied caseload of non-litigated EL/PL claims, primarily within the portal and pre-action protocol stages.
• Assess liability and quantum, review medical evidence, and draft schedules of special damages.
• Provide clear, empathetic legal advice to clients and insurers, maintaining regular communication and managing expectations.
• Liaise with external agencies including medical experts, investigators, and rehabilitation providers.
• Ensure timely progression of cases in line with the Pre-Action Protocol for Low Value Personal Injury Claims and internal service level agreements.
• Maintain accurate records using case management systems (e.g., Solcase) and Microsoft Office tools.
• Contribute to team performance by meeting financial and productivity targets.
• Promote a positive, inclusive working culture and uphold the firm’s values.
