Job summary

Southern Water invites applications for an EICA Engineer to join our Engineering team in Falmer. You will provide technical expertise across electrical, instrumentation, control and automation to support the design and delivery of critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will develop designs, perform engineering analyses, and help ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and to the highest standards while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or related discipline (MEng, BEng, BSc or HNC).
• Experience on engineering projects within water and/or wastewater industry.
• Broad understanding of EICA engineering principles and design processes.
• Strong communication skills for multidisciplinary teamwork.
• Ability to work independently and apply sound engineering judgement.

Responsibilities

• Providing technical engineering support across water and wastewater projects.
• Producing, reviewing and checking engineering designs, calculations, drawings and documentation.
• Supporting planning and delivery of projects with Senior and Principal Engineers.
• Investigating and resolving complex engineering and design challenges.
• Undertaking quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with standards.
• Supporting development of digital engineering solutions.
• Coaching and mentoring Assistant and Graduate Engineers.
• Managing workload to meet milestones, budgets and timescales.
• Building effective relationships within project teams and attending meetings.
• Ensuring activities are undertaken safely and in line with regulatory requirements.
