Job description
Overview

We’re looking for an experienced EHS professional to support and implement our Environment Health & Safety management. You’ll ensure compliance with relevant legislation, promote sustainable practices and drive continuous improvement across the business. You’ll also lead sustainability initiatives and help foster a proactive positive safety culture throughout the organisation.

Responsibilities
  • Support EHS management across AJW operations ensuring compliance with ISO and 45001
  • Conduct inspections, audits and risk assessments; support incident investigations and corrective actions
  • Monitor environmental performance and manage waste emissions and resource use
  • Deliver EHS training and promote a proactive safety culture
  • Maintain environmental records and legal registers; prepare regulatory reports
  • Lead and support sustainability initiatives aligned with ESG goals
  • Collect and report data on energy, waste, water and emissions; assist with ESG disclosures
  • Collaborate across teams to embed sustainability into operations and procurement
  • Ensure compliance with EHS regulations and support certification audits
  • Identify improvement opportunities and benchmark performance against industry standards
  • Stay current with EHS and sustainability trends maintaining relevant qualifications
Qualifications
  • Qualification in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Environmental Management or related field
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or working towards); IEMA or NEBOSH Environmental Certificate desirable
  • 25 years experience in EHS and sustainability roles
  • Strong knowledge of EHS legislation ISO 14001 / 45001 standards, climate change laws and sustainability frameworks
  • Experience with EHS audits, investigations and risk reduction measures
  • Skilled in data analysis, reporting and EHS management systems
  • Able to develop and revise HS&E policies and procedures
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive hands‑on approach
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
  • Good IT skills and attention to detail
  • Passionate about health safety sustainability and environmental protection
