Job summary

Somerset Council’s Children’s Services seeks a SEND Technical Support Assistant to provide comprehensive systems support for MRI Education and SEND Portals. You will administer access, resolve user issues, support upgrades, and help improve processes and dashboards within a hybrid team.

The role requires GCSEs including Maths/English, IT system administration experience, and strong communication with stakeholders. The team offers generous leave and LGPS pension.

Qualifications

• GCSEs (Maths and English) at grade 4/C or higher.
• ECDL or equivalent experience administering IT systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure data is accurate and supports reporting requirements, including statutory returns.
• Administer user access to Education systems and Portals.
• Resolve Helpdesk queries and investigate issues raised by users.
• Contribute to projects to develop and improve Children's Systems.
• Support and test system upgrades with suppliers and users.
• Enter data across platforms and assist in developing dashboards and monitoring tools.
• Update system guidance, templates, forms and workflows.
