Job summary

Advantage Education in Poole is seeking an enthusiastic Education Support Worker to join a specialist school team. You will help students engage with learning, support personal care where needed and contribute to a safe, inclusive classroom environment.

The role suits someone patient and reliable, with a willingness to learn. You'll work 32.5 hours per week during term time, Monday to Friday, with full training and ongoing support offered by Advantage Education.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in school, care, support or SEN environments is beneficial but not essential.
  • Most importantly, be approachable, reliable and motivated to help young people progress.

Advantage Education are working with a specialist school in Poole to recruit an enthusiastic and caring Education Support Worker to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and young people and wants to make a genuine difference to their day-to-day lives. You will be working as part of a supportive classroom team, helping students engage with learning, develop their independence and take part in a wide range of activities.

The Role
  • Support students with their learning and development both in and outside the classroom
  • Work closely with teachers and other members of the wider support team
  • Help students develop communication, social and life skills
  • Support students with personal care and medical needs where relevant
  • Encourage students to become more independent and confident
  • Provide individual support where required, adapting your approach to each student's needs
  • Assist with practical, creative, physical and enrichment activities
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with students
  • Follow individual support plans and school procedures
  • Promote a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment

The school supports children and young people with a range of additional needs, so the role would suit someone who is patient, resilient, compassionate and willing to learn.

About You
  • Previous experience working in a school, care, support or SEN environment would be beneficial, but it is not essential.

What We Offer
