Job summary

Engage Education is recruiting an Inclusive Learning Support Assistant in Worthing to support pupils with additional needs within a specialist school. The role offers 1:1 support, small group interventions, and a focus on independence and communication in a calm, structured setting.

Applicants with prior experience in education, care, youth work, or similar roles are encouraged. Training and ongoing support are provided, with term-time only, full-time hours and payment aligned to national scales.

This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced support staff to join a specialist school supporting young people with complex learning needs.

Located in Worthing, this school provides a calm, structured, and supportive environment where pupils are encouraged to build confidence, independence, and essential life skills.

All students have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and present with a range of needs, including:

• Moderate to profound learning difficulties
• Autism and associated communication needs
• Speech, language and communication difficulties
• Social, emotional and behavioural needs (SEMH)
• Sensory needs (hearing and visual impairments)
• Physical disabilities
• Specific learning difficulties

The school uses a personalised, therapeutic approach to learning, with small class sizes and strong pastoral support to help every pupil thrive.

About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

• Provide 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs
• Support small group learning and targeted interventions
• Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum and staying engaged

• Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and therapists
• Help create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment

• Are confident working with pupils with additional needs or challenging behaviour (desirable)
