Job summary

Advantage Education in Poole is seeking an enthusiastic Education Support Worker to join a specialist school team. You will help students engage with learning, support personal care where needed and contribute to a safe, inclusive classroom environment.

The role suits someone patient and reliable, with a willingness to learn. You'll work 32.5 hours per week during term time, Monday to Friday, with full training and ongoing support offered by Advantage Education.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in school, care, support or SEN environments is beneficial but not essential.
• Most importantly, be approachable, reliable and motivated to help young people progress.

Responsibilities

• Support students with learning and development in and outside the classroom.
• Work closely with teachers and the wider support team.
• Help students develop communication, social and life skills.
• Assist with personal care and medical needs where relevant.
• Encourage independence and confidence.
• Provide individual support and adapt approach to needs.
• Assist with practical, creative, physical and enrichment activities.
• Build positive relationships with students.
• Follow individual plans and school procedures.
• Promote a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.
