Job summary

SENse Learning is seeking Education Mentors in Southampton to provide one-to-one mentoring and learning support for young people with complex needs, in homes and community settings. You will build confidence, support life skills and emotional regulation, and use child-centred, holistic approaches to help learners engage with education.

Role is self-employed with flexible hours and sessions arranged with parents, carers, or schools.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience working with children or young people with complex additional needs (e.g. ASC, ADHD, SEMH).
• Enhanced DBS and 2+ professional references are preferred or required.
• UK-based with right to work; self-employed status supported by SENse Learning.

Responsibilities

• Develop strong, positive relationships with children and young people in homes and community settings.
• Provide one-to-one mentoring, delivering creative activities to support life skills, confidence and independence.
• Apply trauma-informed, flexible strategies to support diverse needs and track progress.
