Job summary

SENse Learning is seeking Education Mentors to provide one-to-one mentoring for SEND learners in homes and community settings. Roles are self-employed, with flexible in-person, hybrid, and community-based sessions. You will tailor activities to each student to build confidence and life skills while supporting education goals.

Applicants should have at least 2 years of relevant experience, safeguarding knowledge, and DBS clearance; right to work in the UK is essential. Interviews are rolling.

Qualifications

• Experience: At least 2 years working with children/young people with complex needs.
• Background: Suitable for LSA/TA/Youth Worker roles with SEND experience.
• Compliance: Enhanced DBS and 2+ professional references.
• Location: Based in the UK with the right to work, including home/community settings.
• Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop strong, positive relationships with children and young people.
• Provide one-to-one support in homes and community settings with creative activities.
• Support development of life skills, confidence, and independence.
• Use trauma-informed approaches and flexible strategies for diverse needs.
• Provide feedback to track progress and adapt support as needed.
