Job summary

SENSE Learning seeks Education Assistants to mentor and support SEND learners in homes and community settings across the UK. The role focuses on holistic development, not just academics, using a child-centred approach and trauma-informed practices.

You’ll deliver 1:1 sessions, coordinate with parents and schools, and help learners access community opportunities. Flexible part-time to full-time hours with opportunities for in-person and hybrid work.

Qualifications

• Experience with children or young people with complex needs (e.g. ASC, SEMH, trauma).
• Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with learners and families.
• Understanding of trauma-informed approaches and flexible support strategies.
• Eligibility to work in the UK and DBS or willingness to obtain DBS.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one mentoring in homes and community settings.
• Deliver creative activities and life skills development alongside education.
• Support emotional regulation and confidence-building in learners.
• Maintain safeguarding and safe learning environments.
