Job summary

Dovetail & Slate Ltd in the East Midlands is seeking an Assistant Manager to join the education leadership team at a justice sector education provider. You will support the Education Manager to raise teaching standards and ensure delivery meets awarding body requirements.

You will lead quality assurance activities, coach teaching staff, contribute to curriculum planning, and help maintain inspection readiness to drive rehabilitation outcomes for adult learners.

Qualifications

• A Level 5+ teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent).
• Significant teaching experience in FE, adult learning or prison education settings.
• Experience in managing staff performance and supporting curriculum improvement.
• Strong knowledge of QA processes in education.

Responsibilities

• Support the Education Manager with day-to-day operational running of the education department.
• Lead QA activity including observations, learning walks and performance monitoring.
• Manage, coach and develop teaching staff to maintain high delivery standards.
• Contribute to curriculum planning to meet learner needs and awarding body requirements.
• Support inspection readiness and contribute to self-assessment and improvement planning.
