Job summary

Dovetail and Slate Limited is recruiting an Assistant Manager to join the education leadership team at a secure establishment in London. You will support the Education Manager with day-to-day operations, oversee curriculum delivery and drive improvements to achieve outstanding learner outcomes.

You should bring substantial teaching experience, staff management skills and a clear understanding of Ofsted frameworks within a custodial setting. This role offers progression and impact.

Qualifications

• Level 5 teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent).
• Level 3 qualifications in Maths and English.
• IQA qualification or willingness to achieve one on appointment.
• Significant teaching experience with staff management and curriculum oversight.
• Strong knowledge of Ofsted's Education Inspection Framework.

Responsibilities

• Support the Education Manager with day-to-day operations, deputising as required.
• Oversee curriculum delivery and drive improvements to meet standards.
• Lead internal quality assurance, observations and learning walks; use MI for targets.
• Mentor and manage teaching staff through appraisals and CPD plans.
• Contribute to the Self-Assessment Report and Quality Improvement Plan per Ofsted framework.
• Deliver cover teaching sessions when necessary.
