Job summary

Dovetail & Slate Ltd in London is recruiting an Assistant Manager to join the senior leadership team of a prison education department. You will support the Education Manager with day-to-day operations, oversee curriculum delivery and ensure standards meet awarding body requirements.

This role requires a Level 5+ teaching qualification, strong staff management skills and a track record in quality improvement within a secure environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified at Level 5 or above (PGCE/Cert Ed/DTLLS or equivalent).
• Proven staff management and curriculum oversight experience.
• Strong knowledge of Ofsted Education Inspection Framework.
• IQA qualification or willingness to achieve one on appointment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Education Manager with day-to-day operations and deputise when required.
• Oversee curriculum delivery and drive quality improvement.
• Lead staff through appraisals, probation reviews and CPD planning.
• Contribute to the Self-Assessment Report and Quality Improvement Plan.
• Deliver cover teaching sessions when necessary.
