Job summary

Dovetail and Slate is recruiting an Assistant Manager to join the senior leadership team of the Education department at a London-based site. You will support the Education Manager in day-to-day operations and lead a team delivering learners' rehabilitation and employment outcomes.

Ideal candidates will hold Level 5 teaching qualifications, strong Ofsted knowledge, and a proven track record of staff leadership within a secure educational setting.

Qualifications

• Teaching qualification at Level 5 or above.
• Level 3 qualifications in Maths and English.
• IQA qualification or willingness to achieve one upon appointment.
• Significant teaching experience with staff management and curriculum oversight.
• Strong working knowledge of Ofsted's Education Inspection Framework.

Responsibilities

• Support the Education Manager with day-to-day operations, inductions, allocations and deputising for the manager when required.
• Oversee delivery and continuous improvement across the curriculum, ensuring provision meets awarding body standards and employer expectations.
• Lead internal quality assurance processes, developmental observations and learning walks, and use MI to drive recruitment, retention and achievement targets.
• Manage and mentor teaching staff through appraisals, probation reviews and tailored CPD plans.
• Contribute to the Self-Assessment Report and Quality Improvement Plan in line with Ofsted’s EIF.
• Deliver cover teaching sessions when necessary.
