Job summary

PLANET RECRUITMENT SERVICES LTD is seeking an IT Manager for a MSP role in education, based in Oxford & Abingdon. The role oversees installation, maintenance, security and availability of the curriculum and administrative ICT network, coordinating with Senior Management to evolve the school's IT infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have 2–3 years of IT management experience in a school setting, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to improving services.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience as IT Manager/Network Manager/Senior ICT Consultant within a school setting.
• Strong understanding of school IT requirements and infrastructure.
• Experience upgrading school IT networks and supporting staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage the school's network infrastructure and ICT applications.
• Monitor and maintain key systems including switches, servers (virtual & physical), Microsoft 365 and backups.
• Provide technical advice, training and support to staff to enable effective use of systems.
• Oversee daily IT operations and respond to requests efficiently.
• Provide 2nd/3rd line support as needed.
• Deliver weekly service update emails to school contacts and monthly service review reports.
• Enforce school policies and train internal staff.
